Perry Wayne Douglas passed away on July 23, 2025, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.
Born on May 4, 1959, Perry grew up on the farm. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Marion Douglas, and is survived by his sister Maureen (Jack) Kolosky, nephew Michael (Kristyn) Kolosky, and his great-nephew and niece, Blake and Hayley Kolosky.
Perry found his calling early in life as a truck driver, a career he began at 18. Over the decades, he crisscrossed 10 provinces and 48 states, forging his path with quiet determination and the freedom of the open road. Perry loved to tell you a trucking story. His love for the outdoors was unwavering—fishing trips and time in nature were some of his greatest joys.
After hanging up his keys, Perry embraced new experiences with a resilient spirit, including working on a cattle and grain farm. He had fond memories of his time in Dawson Creek, BC working on the farm and living in a small cabin in the bush, no electricity, cooking on a wood stove. He lived life fully and unapologetically, always on his own terms.
In keeping with Perry's wishes, no formal service will be held. A private interment will take place at Griswold Cemetery at a later date.
If so desired, donations in Perry's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #401 – 1 Wesley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4C6 honoring his journey and the strength he carried throughout.
Perry's story is one of grit, warmth, and an enduring love for the simple things. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched.
Keep on trucking!
