ALLEN: Percy Garfield Allen passed away suddenly at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, August 11, 2006. Percy was born on August 8, 1921 in Tracy, New Brunswick, one of ten children born to Percy and Minnie Allen. He received his education in New Brunswick, completing his grade 12. Percy worked as a seaman, serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. He also worked as a mariner. Percy then worked for CN Railway as a lineman. He was a member of the Manitoba Wildlife Federation, and was an avid angler and hunter. Percy loved the time he spent enjoying his various boats and campers. Music provided him with much enjoyment over the years, and as young man he played saxophone and guitar. Percy will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Stella Magic of Toronto; brother, Ansel Allen and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Minnie; sisters, Vera Miller, Ivy Blair and Wanda Bullock; brother, Lawrence Allen and three infant siblings. A time of visitation and prayer was held on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Memories Chapel. Honorary Bearers were all the family and friends that attended. His cremated remains will be placed in the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium. Flowers are gratefully declined.
