DAVIES: Patricia Davies (nee Lappage), better known as "Pat" to her family and friends, passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 at the age of 56. Pat was born on February 5, 1950, the second youngest of four children. She was born and raised in Dryden, Ontario. Pat graduated from Dryden High School and later graduated from nursing school in Thunder Bay, becoming a Registered Nurse's Assistant. Upon completion of her schooling she moved to Winnipeg and secured employment with Manitoba Medical. It was there that she met and married her husband Wayne Davies on March 19, 1971 and went on to have two sons, Lloyd and Ben. When the children were born, Pat stayed at home to raise the family. In 1981, the family moved to Dryden where Pat and Wayne started Wayne's Petroleum Services with Pat becoming the bookkeeper for the business. In 1987, the family moved to Sardis, British Columbia in order for Wayne to pursue other interests. In 1988, the family moved to Brandon where Wayne co-founded W.D Petroleum with Pat working as the bookkeeper and office manager for the business. Eventually Pat and Wayne settled in Rapid City, Manitoba. After working at W.D Petroleum for some years, Pat moved on to various other jobs, Paul's Hauling, Fabricland, and Walmart until she was forced to retire due to health reasons. Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed going to Bingo, sewing, and playing cards. She also enjoyed going to antique sales and flea markets with Wayne so much that they ran their own antique store. Pat also enjoyed spending time with her daughter-in-law Jennifer, going shopping or just hanging out. Pat loved country music and attending concerts with her good friend Shelly. Pat was an avid traveler, which took her and Wayne on many trips together around the countryside by vehicle and flying over the ocean. Two of her most enjoyable trips were when they went to Halifax and most recently in 2005 when she went to England with Wayne and their son Ben to attend a nephews wedding. She always enjoyed the family gatherings. Pat leaves to mourn her husband Wayne of Rapid City, Manitoba; sons Lloyd (Jennifer) of Brandon and Ben (partner Cydney and daughter Samantha) of Leduc, Alberta; sister Harriet of Chilliwack, British Columbia. Pat was predeceased by her parents Harry and Mary Lappage; sister Edith and brother Frank. The Ceremony to Celebrate Pat's Life was held on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Memories Chapel with Rev. John Dolloff officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Dryden, Ontario. Donations in memory of Pat may be made to a charity of one's choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
