ACHTYMICHUK: Olga "Ollie" Achtymichuk of Brandon, widow of Bill Achtymichuk and dear mother of Linda, Judy, Shirley and Mervyn, passed away at Fairview Home on Thursday, November 6, 2008. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 3:30 pm. Dr. Evert Busink will officiate. Interment will be in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends may make a donation in memory of Ollie to a charity of choice. Complete obituary information will follow. ACHTYMICHUK: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olga "Ollie" Achtymichuk. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the age of 88. Olga was born in Mikado, Saskatchewan to Blasko and Eva Derkatch and was the third youngest of ten children. On October 8, 1939, Olga married Bill Achtymichuk in Mikado. After farming in Lenswood and Bowsman, Manitoba, they moved to Brandon and by 1952 their family was complete with four children: Judy, Shirley, Mervyn and Linda. In 1963, Olga suffered a great loss with the passing of her husband Bill. Olga retired on December 31, 1984 after a long career at Steingard Nursing Home and International Nursing Home. She loved her family deeply. She enjoyed traveling and sharing special vacations at the family cabin at Oak Lake Beach. After fifty-one years, she moved from her home at 9th Street North to Sokol Manor. In January 2006, she became a resident of Fairview Home. Olga was predeceased by her siblings: Lily, Tony, Ann, Joe, Rose, Julian and Pat. Olga will be loved and remembered by her children: Judy (Don) Jaska, Shirley (Richard) McCullagh, Mervyn (Marlene) Actemichuk, and Linda Lamb; grandchildren: Kim (Sylvain) Mayer, David Jaska, Cory (Sara) Jaska, Natalie (Jason) Dueck, Troy (Andrea), Steingard, Bill (Cheryl) Actemichuk, Terri (fiancTe Elia) Actemichuk, Mathew Actemichuk and Jillian Lamb; step-grandchildren: Kurt and Jaylin and family; great-grandchildren: Brett, Karli, Dara, Dayvia, Kai, Zephen, Ransom, Ezri, Paxton, Austin and Annika. She is also survived by brothers: Paul and Mike (Mary) Derkatch and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel, on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
