A few years later the family moved to the Somerset district where he received his education. In 1945, he married Doris Hirst. Odiel worked for a short time at the Kent Flour Mill. Soon after they farmed in the Dry River District, later moving to the Gerolamy farm in the Greenway-Glenora area. They had three children: Lynda, Karen, and Bill. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying fastball with Dry River and later with Baldur and Mariapolis Blues. Odiel later turned to coaching and also took up Belgium Bowling. He was an active member of the Recreation Association, Baldur Curling Club and the Legion. Odiel also loved cards - especially Bien and cribbage, which he still enjoyed in his last year. He loved curling and was fortunate to score an eight-ender in his senior years in Brandon. Odiel also loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. He retired to Brandon and married Beverley Combs in 1990. Odiel was predeceased by his parents Edmond and Romanie; sister Margaret and brothers George, Alphonse, Albert, Rene. He is survived by his wife Beverley; children Lynda (Neil) McDonald, Karen (Dennis) Rigaux, Bill (Pat) Case and one brother Marcel.
