Obituary

CHAPMAN: The death of Keith Chapman of Brandon Hills district, dear husband of Jean and father of
Judy, Ken, and Sharon, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, January 20, 2000.
Keith was born July 18, 1934 in Brandon, Manitoba. He spent his life on the family farm which was homesteaded by his grandfather, Thomas Chapman. Keith attended school at Brandon Hills and East Brandon travelling there by horseback. His quiet gentle way made him a very special Grandpa and Dad. He was indeed a "gentle man." Keith had a special ability to build, repair and sometimes modify his own farm equipment. His many hours spent in "the shop", designing and building provided him with great enjoyment. Keith leaves his beloved wife, Jean (nee Cornish); son, Ken (Jan) and daughters; Judy (Greg) Esplin and Sharon (Peter) Garbutt. Grandchildren: Katrina, Brett and Erin Esplin, Reta, Katharine and Adam Chapman, Alyssa, Jillian and Wade Garbutt. He also leaves his father Norman Chapman, brothers; Jack (Peggy), Glenn (Peggy) and Colin (Linda-Faye). He also leaves his mother-in-law, Rena Cornish, brother-in-law Morley (Faye) Cornish and sister-in-law, Shirley (Howard) Bettle. Keith was predeceased by his mother, Olive (nee Granger) in 1983 and his father-in-law, Vic Cornish in 1990. The ceremony to celebrate Keith's life was held at St. George's Anglican Church on Monday, January 24, 2000. The Rev. Jim Brown officiated. Pallbearers were: Norman, Brian, Bill, Allan, Stuart and Andrew Granger. Interment was in the Brandon Hills Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Keith to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 - 1st Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 2W8. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
