STAPLETON: The peaceful passing of Norma Louise Stapleton occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, December 29, 2006. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. The Ceremony to Celebrate Norma's Life will be held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Barbara Jardine will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. peacefully on December 29, 2006 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Norma is survived by partner James Verboom; sons Donald Wakely (Kellie Klyzub), Andrew Wakely (Cesha); grandchildren: Bobby, Kelsey, Ashley, Tayler, Zachary; brothers, Nichol Jackson and family, Ronnie Jackson and family and sister-in-law Doris
Jackson and family. Norma was predeceased by her father Mathew Jackson in 1962, mother Agnes Jackson in 1978, brother George Jackson in 2006. Norma
was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on August 25, 1943. She moved to Canada and
attended school in Collinwood, Ontario. Norma returned to Scotland with her
family and later married Arthur William Wakely in 1962. She had two sons, Donald in 1963 and Andrew in 1966. Norma moved back to Canada with her mother and two sons in 1975 and settled in Brandon, Manitoba. Norma worked as a "Bobby" with the Leicester Police Department, a photographer's assistant, both in England and a nurses aid in Canada. Norma enjoyed camping, boating and fishing, as well as collecting dolls, coins, stamps, gardening, plastic canvas art and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed many bus trips with James to destinations in both the USA and in Canada. A celebration of Norma's life will take place at Memories Chapel on January 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery.
