Norma Darlene Chapman (nee Johnston) passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. Darlene was born on November 14, 1946 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Ivan James (Kelly) on October 12, 1991; and Bertha Norleen (Bert) on October 4, 1993. Darlene is survived by her children, Kelly (Donna) Chapman of Airdrie, Alberta; Barry (Lisa) Chapman of Airdrie, Alberta; Lorrie Hazelwood of Edmonton, Alberta; and Caralee (Larry) Marsh of Brandon, Manitoba, her grandchildren, Kara and Alex Chapman; Zachary and Arianna Chapman; Jamie Hazelwood; and Jessica Marsh. Darlene is also survived by her brother, Larry (Barb) Johnston; and sister, Cheryl Swarath; and their families; her companion Richard Szczepanski and long time friend Albie Stanley. The funeral service was held on Saturday, June 2, 2001 at 4:00 pm at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon, Manitoba. Rev. Don Hudson officiated a beautiful service that celebrated Darlene's (Mom's) life. The eulogy was written by her best friend, Albie Stanley of Brandon, and a poem was written by friend and sister-in-law, Alice Naismith of Carberry.
