Obituary

WILKINSON: Norah Stephanie Wilkinson passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Norah was born in Brandon, Manitoba on February 24, 1921. When she was only a few months old, her family moved to Rorketon, Manitoba. Norah left home at an early age to work in Ochre River, Oberon, and Oak Lake, Manitoba before returning to Brandon in 1939. She worked many years at Sedran's Groceries before marrying Bus Wilkinson and raising her family. Norah enjoyed having a large garden and had many flowers and plants that decorated her home inside and out. Norah was a devout Catholic and enjoyed many Sunday services at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. Norah is predeceased by: her husband "Bus" Wilkinson on October 1, 1981; brothers Joe and Dick Stark; sisters Florence and Goscia (Sister Stark) and a brother-in-law Charlie Bretcher. Norah is survived by: her children Gail, Barry, Roy (Dale) and Doug (Sandra); grandchildren Rana, Ashley, Ellison, and Douglas Wilkinson, Sean (Granada), and Troy (Shelly) Robinson; great-grandchildren Sydney, Courtney, Miranda and Jason. She also leaves to mourn her siblings, Kay Marshall, Mary Bretcher, Lavinia Stark and Jack Stark as well as many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on July 19, 2006 with Father Dominic Yuen officiating. A time of visitation and refreshments followed in the St. Augustine's Church square. A private interment was held on Thursday, July 20, 2006 in the Brandon Cemetery where Norah was laid to rest beside her husband Bus. Urn bearers were Rana and Douglas Wilkinson. Friends who wish, may make a donation in memory of Norah to the Brandon Regional Health Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and health care workers at the BRHC. A special thanks to all friends, neighbours, and relatives who gave us their support and understanding during this time of mourning.
