McLACHLAN: Norah Alice O'Hara (nee Ring). The McLachlan family sadly announces the passing of Norah McLachlan on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the age of 83 years at her residence Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home. She is survived by her sons: Dennis (Donna), Mike (Paulette) of Edmonton, AB and Jack of Brandon, MB. Also surviving are two grandchildren Kelly (Sean) and Chris and great-granddaughter Jysenna. Norah was predeceased by her husband Bill and granddaughter Lindsey. Norah was born on June 13, 1928 in Crystal City, MB. She was the fourth child of James and Katherine Ring. Norah was raised in Crystal City, MB along with her sisters Annie, Kathleen and brother Oswald. Upon completion of grade 12, she moved to Brandon, MB to attend nursing school. It was in Brandon where she met and later married William "Bill" McLachlan on February 24, 1951 and together raised their family. In her younger days mom enjoyed curling, helping out the elders in the neighborhood and did her share of volunteering. She also enjoyed travelling and spending time with her grandchildren. At Norah's request a private service was held Friday, January 6, 2012. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiated. Interment was at the Brandon Cemetery. The family would like to thank all who looked after and cared for mother through her illness.
