OBIT..... MAZIER

Nicholas Alexander Mazier passed away peacefully on April 19, 1999 at Brandon Regional Health Centre. Nick was born at Justice, MB December 8, 1926. He attended school at Justice and at the age of 16 he went to Hamilton, Ontario for the winter to work in a foundry to help with the war efforts. He then returned home to the farm with his father and eventually took over the entire operation. Nick continued to farm with his two sons until his death.
Nick was a member of the Union Masonic Lodge of Brookdale. In his younger years he enjoyed playing hockey and curling. His tenor singing voice gave him and those that heard him much pleasure. He was a faithful Wheat Kings fan and rarely missed "Hockey Night in Canada."
Nick is survived by his wife Jean (Kopochinski) of 43 years; daughter, Kathy (Pat) Beernaert, Stephen
and David of Deloraine; son, David (Kathy) Mazier, Abby and Conner of Justice; son, Dan (Leigh) Mazier, Hannah and Michael of Justice; sisters: Julia Borotsik of Brandon and Mazie (Lorne) Rose of Killarney; nieces: Lorna Rose and Linda Martinook; and nephews: Richard Borotsik, Bill and Ken Rose. Nick was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Cathleen Mazier; sister, Jean Penny and brother-in-law Joe; sister,
Mary Mazier; brother Michael who was killed in action (WWII); and brother-in-law, Martin Borotsik.
The Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on April 23, 1999 with Rev. Fr. Miron Pozniak officiating. Rev. Barb Jardine gave the eulogy and sang "One Day at a Time."
Interment was at the Brandon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chy Habing, Jim Anderson, Richard Borotsik, Andrew Bieganski, Jeff Bieganski, and Brent Mills.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nick's memory to the Brandon General Hospital Foundation, 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB - R7A 2B3. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
Nick was a very proud man who always said, "Live every day to the fullest and take One Day at a Time."

CARD OF THANKS.... MAZIER

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all relatives, neighbors and friends for the food, cards, flowers, visits and donations given during the loss of our Husband, Dad, and Grandpa. Nick appreciated the visits and concern during his illness.
Sincere thanks to the Doctors and wonderful staff at Brandon Regional Health Centre for the excellent
care and kindness shown to him. To mention names is difficult as there are many but, special thanks goes to the nurses on 400. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Groves and the girls at Station 4, Brandon Clinic. To Rev. Fr. M. Pozniak; chanter and choir; and Rev. Barb Jardine for giving the eulogy and beautiful solo. Thank you to the pallbearers and the Brandon City Police. Last, but not least, to Vern Schneider and staff at Memories Chapel for handling the "unexpected" so well.
All is very much appreciated and will long be remembered.
