PSHYK: The death of Nellie Pshyk of Carstairs, Alberta, formerly of Rivers occurred Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Didsbury Hospital, Didsbury, Alberta. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Adolph in 1999. Prayers will be said on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 7:00 pm at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North. Divine Liturgy will be Celebrated on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 927 Assiniboine Avenue. Celebrant will be Fr. Michael Tkachuk. Cantor Stella Fedeniuk. Interment will follow in the Rivers Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. PSHYK: Nellie Pshyk (nee Chunyk) of Carstairs, Alberta, formerly of Rivers passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Didsbury Hospital, Didsbury, Alberta. Nellie was born in Hudson Bay Junction, Saskatchewan on September 24, 1925. She was one of nine children, three boys and six girls. Nellie married Adolph Pshyk on May 23, 1943 in the Church of St. George, Hudson Bay Junction. In 1952, they moved to Rivers, Manitoba where Adolph was transferred by the Canadian National Railway Co. This was their home until Nellie moved to Carstairs, Alberta in 2005. Nellie was a faithful member of the Rivers Ukrainian Catholic Church until it closed in the early 1990's and then she moved her membership to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Brandon, where she maintained a membership to the present. She was a hard working and long time member of the Rivers Ukrainian Society. Nellie was predeceased by her fourteen-year-old daughter Elizabeth on February 16, 1974, her husband Adolph in 1999 and by a brother Ed. Nellie is survived by three daughters Irene (Pete) Ralph of Perkinsfield, Ontario, Marge (Ron) Lessoway of Calgary, Alberta, and Josie (Don) Curren of Carstairs, Alberta and one son Greg Pshyk of Prince George, British Columbia. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren as well as brothers Mike and Tony and sisters Jennie, Rosie, Elsie, Lucy and Ethel. Prayers were said on Monday, April 7, 2008 at Memories Chapel. Divine Liturgy was Celebrated on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Celebrant was Fr. Michael Tkachuk.
