Obituary

SMITH: Naomi Ruth Smith (nee Underhill) passed away peacefully at Fairview Home on July 14, 2005. Naomi was born on December 4, 1905 at Underhill, Manitoba, daughter of Harry and Frances Underhill, pioneers in the district. Naomi spent many happy summers since 1941 at her cottage at Clear Lake in Riding Mountain National Park and many memorable winters at get-aways in California, Texas and Florida. She was a very caring, compassionate lady, always concerned about the needs of others. She is survived by; her daughter, Pauline and son-in-law, Raymond Allard, four grandchildren; Marilyn Boughen (Jim), George Allard (Carol), Daniel Allard (Kate) and David Allard. There are ten great grandchildren. Her life has been enriched by her faithful Brandon cousins, Clarice Terry and Harriet Pentland, her cousin, Alice Graham and her many friends. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by; her husband Horace Smith, parents, Harry and Frances Underhill and a sister, Mary Shepherd. We wish to give special thanks to the caring nurses and staff at Fairview Home. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Rosewood Memories Gardens. If friends wish a donation in memory of Naomi may be made to either the Fairview Home, 1351-13th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 4S6 or to a charity of choice.
