Murray John Owens

The family of Murray Owens are saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday July 22nd ,2025 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre at the age of 87 years.

Murray was born in Brandon on June 28th,1938 and lived most of his life in Alexander, MB.

He retired from the City of Brandon as a mechanic in 1999 and spent his retirement years enjoying the many cows, alpacas and cats on the family farm. Murray was an avid fan of the Brandon Wheat Kings and looked forward to game nights or any other night when he could eat out at either Humpty's or A & W.
In 2020, Murray moved to Riverheights Terrace where he continued to enjoy handing out his Werther's candies to everyone he met.

Murray is survived by his son Greg, granddaughter Taylor and her son Hunter, grandsons Jordan, and Brandon and his son Jackson; son Jeff (Laurie), grandson Bryson (Kerstin), step-granddaughter Kristy Hare (Tom) and their daughters Lawson and Maisy, step-grandson Billy Martens (Erin) and their daughters Shirley and Florence.

Murray was predeceased by his wife Irene in 1999 and siblings Harriet, Bill and Bob.

A come and go Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 15th from 2 PM to 4 PM at The Whitehead Hall, 118 Clyde Street, Alexander, MB.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Murray be made to Whitehead Fire Department c/o Box 141 Alexander MB R0K 0A0.
