Obituary

STOUFFER: Muriel Stouffer, beloved wife of the late Don Stouffer and devoted mother of Peggy and Ken Turnbull and Jack and Cindy Stouffer passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Brandon Regional Health Centre. Muriel Georgina Scott was born October 23rd, 1922 in Hilton, Manitoba to Jim and Annie Scott, the middle child of a family of five. She was raised in the Hilton district and enjoyed growing up in the large extended family of Scotts and McKays. On October 11th, 1947 she married Don Stouffer, son of Stanley and Margaret Stouffer, and became part of another large extended family - the Stouffers and McLartys. Muriel and Don moved to Brandon in 1949 where they raised their two children - Peggy and Jack. In 1975 they purchased an acreage on the Treesbank Road, enjoying a return to their rural roots. Following Don's death in 1984, Muriel returned to Brandon where she lived until her passing. Muriel was devoted to her family and was deeply loved in return. We will remember her gentle nature, her concern for others and her sense of humor. Her memory will be cherished by her two children and their spouses; by grandchildren Michael Turnbull and his wife Shauna, Scott Turnbull, Meaghan Stouffer and Jenna Stouffer; and by her three great-grandchildren who brought her great joy - Matthew, Danika and Kade Turnbull. In addition to her immediate family, Muriel is survived by her only remaining sibling, Flora Prideaux; in-laws Laverne Scott, Morley Roney, Dorothy Scott, Phyllis Laminman, Lew and Anita Stouffer, Alice Laminman, Jim and Joyce Stouffer, Joan and Ken Al-Molky and many nieces and nephews and their families. When her children and grandson married, her family grew to include the Turnbulls, the Salyns, the Constables and the Soldans as well. A service to celebrate Muriel's life will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, with Mona Franklin officiating. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in Muriel's memory to the BRHC Stroke Unit, c/o Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East. Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre in care of arrangements.
