TRELLA: Michael Trella passed away at his residence, Rideau Park Personal Care Home on Wednesday, July 12, 2006. Michael was born on October 9, 1923 in Poland. At the age of 16, Michael joined the Polish army and fought throughout the European Theatre. After his release from the military, Michael settled in England and worked at a variety of social clubs before becoming the manager of the pub. In later years, Michael immigrated to Canada, married Betty Rance, and purchased the Crystal Hotel in Brandon with friends. In 1985, Michael and Betty purchased 5 acres of land in Cottonwoods where they built their home and resided until ill health forced them to move into a personal care home in 2002. Michael enjoyed fishing, wine making and spending many happy hours with his friend Tom Gibson. Michael is survived by his son John of England; three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Michael was predeceased by his wife Betty. A Memorial Service was held at Rideau Park Personal Care Home on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 with Rev. Barbara Jardine officiating.
