Wastle: Merle Gertrude (nee Steele) born September 19, 1921 at Riding Mountain went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 24, 2012. Predeceased by husband John; son-in-law Barry Teal; brothers, Gordon, Reg, Norman, and sisters, Eileen, Hazel and Reta. Merle is survived by son Clarence (Theresa) and daughter Joyce Teal; grandchildren Christal Wastle (Andy Slusarczyk), Lisa (Kyle Chrystian), Teresa (Ryan Meise), Barb (Mark Schram), and James (Ana) Teal; great-grandchildren Austin Wastle, Ethan Chrystian, Dustin Lonsdale, Nathan and Drew Meise, Luke and Ellisa Schram, Samantha and Ana Teal; brother-in-law Ralph (Grace) Wastle and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Merle's life was held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Bethel Christian Assembly. Pastor Len Smith officiated. Interment was at Gladstone Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Merle may be made to the Manhattan Beach Retreat Centre, P.O. Box 62, Ninette, MB R0K 1R0.
