CONSTABLE: Mel passed away at the Assiniboine Center on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at the age of 57 years. Mel was born in Goose Bay, Labrador on November 2, 1947. He spent his early years in Elgin, Manitoba and began working at J & G Supply in 1967. Mel was dedicated to customer service and truly enjoyed his association with those customers and coworkers for 38 years until ill health made it impossible to continue. He was devoted to his family, had a passion for hunting and the times spent at "the cabin". Mel's memory will live in the hearts of his wife Sandy; daughters Shauna (Mike), Susan (Jeff); precious grandchildren Matthew, Danika and Kade Turnbull, Ashley and Serina McGregor; father Joe; brother Dan (Linda) and family; sister Wanda Scott and family; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Also left to cherish Mel's memory are father and mother-in-law Jim and Sylvia Soldan and brother-in-law Gerald. Mel was predeceased by his mother Dot; brothers Wayne and Leslie and brother-in-law Ray Scott. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel, on Thursday, July 7, 2005. Rev. Boyd Drake officiated. Interment followed in the Rapid City Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
