BESTWARD: Melville Amos Bestward of Central Park Lodge passed away in Brandon on Thursday, July 8, 1999 at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years, Clara; a brother, John and several nieces and nephews. Mel was a veteran of the Korean War after which he was employed as a Commissionaire at Shilo and then at Rivers. He also worked for Metropolitan Security followed by employment with Behlin Wicks prior to his retirement. Mel fought his cancer like a true soldier...may he rest in peace. A graveside service will be held in the Veterans Section of the Brandon Cemetery on Monday, July 12, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. If friends desire, donations in memory of Mel may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 42 McTavish Ave. E., Brandon, MB, R7A 2B2.
