In Loving Memory of Melody Joy Osudar (Tornes)
Melody Joy Osudar (Tornes) passed away on October 17th at Brandon Regional Hospital, leaving behind a loving family, dear friends, and countless people whose lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
Born on June 14, 1965, in International Falls, Minnesota, Melody lived a life defined by love, dedication, meaningful relationships, and professional achievement. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, cherished sister, respected professional, and dear friend who left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Melody leaves behind her loving husband, Randall Osudar; her son Justin, his wife, Tanya, and their children, Jaxsen and Hayden; her daughter Courtney, her husband, Jason, and their children, Luca, Navy, and Mili; her son Ryan and his wife, Jordan; and her son Brayden, his wife, Nicole, and their children, Rogan and Liam. She is also survived by her sisters, Sandy, Cindy, and Debbie. Melody treasured the lasting bonds she shared with her extended family, including her beloved Nana, Betty Hele, and those who remained close to her throughout the years. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Jayde; her parents, Harold and Grace Tornes; and her brother, Gary L. Tornes.
Family was at the heart of Melody’s life, and the love she gave will remain a treasured part of her family’s story for generations to come.
Melody began her banking career straight out of high school and quickly established herself as a talented and dedicated professional. After moving to Canada, she worked for CIBC in Kenora, Ontario, as a bank teller and loans officer before becoming a mortgage broker.
Her leadership and abilities led to an opportunity with BMO as Bank Manager of its Kenora branch, followed by a move to Brandon, Manitoba, where she helped strengthen the local branch. She later joined Westoba Credit Union as a Branch Manager and advanced to Assistant Vice President.
After many successful years in banking, Melody began a new chapter in her life with Westman Seniors Housing Co-op, where she spent the final eight years of her career. Her dedication and leadership led her to become the organization’s Executive Director. Throughout her professional journey, she earned the respect of colleagues, built lasting friendships, and made meaningful contributions to the communities she served. Her career reflected her determination, integrity, and commitment to others.
Beyond her career, Melody will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, the friendships she nurtured, and the connections she made throughout her life. From International Falls to communities across Canada, she touched many lives and brought her strength, warmth, and dedication wherever she went.
Her absence will be deeply felt at family gatherings, in everyday moments, and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer physically present, the memories she created and the love she gave will continue to live on through her family, friends, and former colleagues.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Melody’s life, share memories, and honour the remarkable woman she was on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Memories Chapel - 330 - 18th Street North, Brandon, Manitoba.

May Melody rest peacefully, reunited with her loved ones who passed before her. May her family, friends, and colleagues find comfort in the memories they hold and in the lasting impact she made on so many lives.
Forever loved, forever missed, and always in our hearts.
