DURNIN: Primrose Durnin of the Cornwallis District east of Brandon passed away on July 9, 2003. She was born in Brandon, Manitoba March 13, 1921. Primrose received her education at St. Michael's Academy Business School. Her working career included: Wawanesa Mutual, McLaughlin's Business Machines, C.P. Express, Brandon General Hospital, and Western Diesel Fuel Injection Co. After her retirement, Prim enjoyed a variety of volunteer activities in the community. Included: King George School, the Cancer Clinic, Dinsdale Home, Christmas Cheer, and volunteering at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. In recent years Prim took pleasure in the fellowship of friends and neighbors by participating in recreational activities such as the kitchen band, cards, quilting, bingo, and puzzles. Prim thoroughly enjoyed long walks where she marveled at the beauty of nature around her. Prim shared her generous spirit, positive attitude and radiant smile with one and all. She is remembered with love by family and friends. Primrose is survived by: her daughter Dell, son Doug (Cheryl); granddaughters, Ainslie and Susan; sisters, Gladys Wilson, Margaret Nadler, and Irene Wilkie (Les); sisters-in-law Eileen Connon and Jean Connon. She is predeceased by: her parents, James and Helen Connon; brothers, James Mearns, Keith Connon, and John Connon; and sister Alice Brandon. The Ceremony to Celebrate Prim's life will be held at Memories Chapel 330-18th St. N. on Monday, July 14, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. with Lydia Glawson officiating.
