SALYN: Mary, April 11, 1920 - August 6, 2007. Mary Salyn of Winnipeg, formerly of Brandon, passed away at the age of 87 years. She is now in the loving arms of her beloved husband Harry; son Leonard; her parents Michael and Magdeline Nowitski; brothers Steve and Alex Nowitski and her sister Irene Stratulak. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters and one son: Dorothy (Bill) Malysh of Spring Lake, Alberta, Carolyne (Jeff) Wright of Surrey, British Columbia, Zoria (Jim) Low of Winnipeg, and Ken Salyn of Marbella, Spain. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Kari (Andrew) Carr, Derek Wright, Brandi Malysh, Crystal (James) Candlish, Sean Malysh, Becky (Romel) Marquez, Steven Sereda, David Sereda, Ayla Salyn, Taly Salyn and eight great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her siblings Fred Nowitski, Julia Kelor, Nellie Rusyn, and Annie Beck. Prayers will be said on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North. Divine Liturgy will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 927 Assiniboine Avenue, Brandon. Celebrant will be Fr. Michael Tkachuk. Cantor will be Stella Fedeniuk. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. "A loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her."
