KOZAK: Mary Kozak (nee Kazmerik) passed away peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre on Thursday, November 24, 2005 with her loving family at her side. Mary was born on October 3, 1921 in the R.M. of Rosedale, MB, the daughter of Peter and Annie Kazmerik, the fourth sibling in a line of ten. As a young woman she was employed at Swifts in Neepawa and the Neepawa Hatchery. On February 5, 1955 she married John Kozak and joined him on the farm in the Cornwallis District for 44 years. Farming and family were her life. Mary raised chickens and sold eggs for 30 years. She loved to garden, with every fall spent preserving and canning. Home cooking and baking were her specialties. We all enjoyed the fruits of her labour. They retired to Brandon in October of 1999. Mary was a devoted daughter, a loving sister but most of all a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was very generous putting the needs of her family first. Family gathering always put a smile on her face. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, John; daughters, Beverley (Jim) Renwick and Dale Corley (Murray Stevenson) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Clinton (Rebecca) Corley, Brynn Corley of Winnipeg and Krista Renwick. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Jenny Kelunick, Alice Kozak, Nick Kazmerik all of Neepawa, Lena (Stan) Grasky of Winnipeg, John (Jessie) Kazmerik of Brandon and Paulina (Tony) Antoniuk of Oakville, ON. In-laws, Peter Kozak of Brandon; Kathleen Kazmerik of Neepawa and numerous nieces and nephews survive her as well. Mary was predeceased by: her parents, Peter (1960) and Annie (1991); siblings, Kay Kozak (1989), Mike Kazmerik (1999) and Bill Kazmerik (2001). Divine Liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 29, 2005. Celebrant was Fr. Michael Tkachuk. Cantor was Tony Yuriy and the Crossbearer was Krista Renwick. Pallbearers were: Clint Corley, Jerry Kozak, Jim Kozak, Brian Kazmerik, Rick Kozak and Don Grasky. Interment followed at the Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa. Flowers are gratefully declined. God's Flower Garden
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So He closed His arms
Around you and whispered
"Come with Me."
Your smile is gone forever,
Your hands we cannot touch
All we have are memories
Of one we loved so much.
He took you to His garden,
And laid you there to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best.
And when we saw you sleeping
So peaceful and free from pain,
We would not want you,
To suffer that again.
