HAIGHT: The death of Mary Edna Haight occurred at her residence, Fairview Home on Wednesday, January 19, 2005. Edna, daughter of Thomas and Mary Jane Moore, was born on July 21, 1907 in Makinak, Manitoba. Edna grew up there and helped on the family farm. In the late 1940's, she moved to Dauphin with her mother and then in the early 1950's, following the death of her mother, moved to Brandon. In Brandon, she was employed at the Assiniboine Centre. In 1959, Edna married Frank Haight and moved to Hamiota, Manitoba. She moved back to Brandon in the fall of 1986 and she has resided in Brandon ever since. Edna was predeceased by: her husband, Frank; stepson, Bob Haight; her parents, Thomas and Mary Jane Moore; her older sister, Mae Peel and husband George. She is survived by: her step-daughter, Janet (Darwin) Dagg; step-sons, Fred (Denyse) Haight and Jack Haight and daughter-in-law Louise Stanyer (Haight). There are eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Ceremony to Celebrate Edna's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Trevor Rutley will officiate. Interment will take place in the Turtle River Cemetery at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
