Obituary

CAREY: Mary (Molly) Carey died peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre on July 26, 1999 at the age of 82.
Molly was born on April 20, 1917 at Pipestone, Manitoba. Molly was a talented athlete and in her younger years, along with her four sisters, was a member of the Pipestone Ladies Softball Club that won many honors. In curling, she skipped rinks that won several provincial championships and also took in numerous bonspiels around Brandon and area. Molly worked for many years at the T. Eaton Company. She was predeceased by her husband Len on Sept. 23, 1986; two sisters, Marjorie and Elizabeth; four brothers: Sandy, John, David and Tom Fairbairn. Molly leaves to mourn her two sisters, Mildred Misener of Dauphin and Hilda Blanchard (Rollie) of Steinbach; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Baldwin of Reston and Polly Fairbairn of Brandon; many nieces, nephews and devoted friends. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses on 200 at the Assiniboine Centre. Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on July 28, 1999. Rev. Dorrie Flook officiated. Pallbearers were Cal Fairbairn, David Blanchard, Ken Griffiths, Ian Ford, Bob Rey, and Bill Fairbairn. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Molly to the Children's Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3J2 or to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 - 17th Street E., Brandon, MB. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
