BARNES: Mary Louise "Mary Lou" (nee Conroy) Barnes, age 76 years, of Brandon, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Mary Louise Conroy was born February 24, 1944 in Brandon, MB to Austin and Norma (nee Insley) Conroy. She married her best friend and soulmate, Henry "Hank" Barnes, on August 22, 1964 and they enjoyed 45 years together before Hank passed away in 2010. Mary Lou is survived by her children: Bonnie (Kelly) Hyke of Redfield, SD and Joey Barnes of Lynn Lake, MB; seven grandchildren: Jewel, Leta, Zoey, Kylie, Xena, Megan and Adam; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Betty (Fred) Frost of East St. Paul, MB; sister-in-law Helen (Don) Scribner of Brandon; brother-in-law Russ (Connie) Barnes of Delburne, AB; many nieces and nephews; and numerous close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Hank; parents; and parents-in-law. Due to COVID-19, a private graveside service will take place at Alexander Cemetery.
