JEREMIC: Martha Laverne Jeremic (nee Lilley) (Magee) passed away at the Brandon Regional Heath Centre on August 25, 2008. She was born on May 28, 1937 in Erickson, Manitoba, the second eldest of six children born to Matthew and Anne Lilley. Mom was raised in Erickson and has also resided in Onanole, Elphinstone and Rivers. While in Rivers, she met and married Edwin Magee in 1956. After Rivers, they lived in Kenora and Welland, Ontario, Drayton Valley, Alberta and then in Brandon and Winnipeg. During this time, they raised seven children. Mom enjoyed many hobbies over the years; gardening, sewing, cooking, baking and knitting which was her greatest passion. She worked as a cook, a cleaner and also did some foster parenting over the years. She enjoyed being with family and friends, always finding a reason to get everyone together for a feast. She was predeceased by: her parents, two brothers and Edwin Magee. Mom is lovingly remembered by: sons, D'Arcy (Betty), Dwight (Brenda), Dale (Delores) and Bradley and daughters; Brenda (Lyndon), Barbara (Norman), Bonnie (Stephen). There are twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by Nick Jeremic. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Laverne at a reception to be held at the Ukrainian Reading Hall, 1005 Assiniboine Avenue on Friday, August 29, 2008 from 1:00 pm. to 3:00 pm.
