ANDERSON: Marjorie Anderson passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at her residence, Central Park Lodge. Marjorie was born on January 26, 1909 and was raised in Brandon, where she received her education and resided for most of her life. She held various teaching and nursing positions before her training and work in the Occupational Therapy field. Marj married Walter Anderson and they moved to Terrace Bay, Ontario, where they lived until Walter's retirement in 1971 and their return to their native Brandon. Throughout her 95 years, Marjorie was involved in many organizations in both Terrace Bay and Brandon, including the Children's Aid Society, Terrace Bay Community Church, Order of the Eastern Star (Silver Birch Chapter), Rebecca's, International Order of Daughters of the Empire (Prince Alexander Teck), Brandon Mental Hospital Alumni and as a volunteer at Central Park Lodge. Marjorie and Walter were among the original members of the New Horizons Club (Valleyview Community Center). Marj enjoyed lawn bowling and golf but her main recreational interest and favorite pastime was always a good game of bridge. After many enjoyable retirement years, Walter predeceased Marjorie in 1988. She was also predeceased by four brothers; Cam (Edna), Gordon, Clifford and Lloyd and by her only sister, Bea (Tom) Carr. Marj is survived by her daughter, Margot and son-in-law Walter Malchuk; granddaughters, Jo-Anne (David) Bettio and Jennifer (David) Yaciuk and great grandchildren; Nathan, Claire and Jordan Bettio. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Jessie (Gordon) and Jean (Cliff) Johnston as well as many nieces and nephews. The Ceremony to Celebrate Marjorie's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 10:30 am. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church will officiate.
