Obituary

Rose: Marion Doreen Rose of Brandon, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg on Sunday, October 15, 2000. Doreen was born in the McAuley area on February 20, 1925, the only daughter of the late James and Mary Parke. She received her education at McAuley School. Doreen trained as a telephone operator, beginning work in McAuley. She later moved to Boissevain, where she worked for a few years. On May 15, 1951, she married Orville C. Rose in Toronto. They resided there for a year before moving to Brandon, where she has since resided. Orville predeceased her in 1984. Doreen enjoyed her family and her grandchildren. She also especially enjoyed visiting with friends and getting together with them for coffee. Doreen leaves her three children: daughter, Gwen (Doug) Chalmers of Carroll, son Harvey (Brenda) Rose of Brandon and daughter, BettyAnne (Will) Gray of Gillam. Her grandchildren; Tasha, Charles Gray, Lisa (Jared) Puhach, David and Scott Chalmers and her step-grandchildren; Darla (Rob) McGill and their daughter Chelsey; Craig Collingridge and partner, Janelle Lahaie and their daughter Brooke. The ceremony to celebrate Doreen's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Thursday, October 19, 2000 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. John Oldenkamp will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon cemetery. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
