LOVERING: On Wednesday, March 21, 2007, Marion Lovering (nee Cunningham) passed away peacefully at Rideau Park Personal Care Home. Born on February 9, 1921 and raised in Toronto, she was the middle child in a family of seven. During her teenage years, Marion lovingly cared for her mother during a lengthy illness, then after her death continued to keep house for her father. In June of 1947, she married Lloyd Lovering, and they began a lifetime of ministry together. Marion was a dedicated minister's wife and helpmate to Lloyd and she devoted her time and energy to raising her four children. In 1961, the family moved to Saskatchewan, and then settled in southwestern Manitoba in 1970. Following Lloyd's retirement from Central United Church they remained in Brandon. After Lloyd's death in August 2003, Marion stayed in her home with Wags, her faithful canine companion. She moved to Lawson Lodge, and then to Rideau Park as her health failed. Predeceased by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and her husband of 56 years, Marion will live on in the memories of her children Mary (Murray) Carr of Brandon, Peter (Donna) Lovering of Taber, Alberta, Ruth (Lloyd) Griffith of Kindersley, Saskatchewan, and Jack (Melodee) Lovering of Leamington, Ontario; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Marion will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Grace (Herb) Phinnemore; three sisters-in-law Mary Cunningham, Ruth Preston, and Joan Lovering and numerous nieces and nephews. The Ceremony to Celebrate Marion's Life will be held at Central United Church, 327 - 8th Street on Saturday, March 24, 2007 (today) at 2:00 pm. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood will officiate. Interment will be held in the Deloraine Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Marion may be made to Central United Church, 327 - 8th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 3X5.
