HLADKY: Marilyn Jean Hladky, of Brandon, passed away at the Assiniboine Centre on Wednesday, December 1, 1999. Marilyn was born on April 21, 1947 in Winkler, Manitoba daughter of William and Helen Spenst. She grew up on a farm in the village of Rosengart where she received her elementary education. Marilyn proceeded to take her grades 9 to 12 education in Winkler and then received her teaching certificate at the University of Manitoba. After university, she taught school for eight years and raised her children. Marilyn was the co-founder of Galaxy Computer Systems. She enjoyed designing on the computer and internet. She loved crafts and gardening. Marilyn had a very generous and tender heart which was expressed through her love for little children. She is survived by her beloved husband Ted; children Rick, Tracy and Chris; son-in-law Brad and daughter-in-law Sandy. Also surviving are Marilyn's sisters and brothers: Pearl (Albert) Letkeman, Lori (Bob) Letkeman, Ron Spenst and Gary (Connie) Spenst as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Matthew and her parents. The funeral service will be held at Bethel Christian Assembly on Friday, December 3, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Phil Price will officiate. A private graveside service will be held in Winnipeg at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
