BROWNRIDGE: Cecile Marie, of Brandon, passed away with family by her side, after a short battle, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on November 24, 2008 at the age of 82. Cecile was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Donalda Nault; her first husband Charles Dubois and a brother Lou Neault. She is survived by her husband, Bill Brownridge; sisters: Trudy, Eve, Rita, Gayle, Lorraine, Denise and Dolly; brothers: Danny and Johnny; daughters Della Rossal (Gilbert), Marie-ange Baxter and Jeanne Gerry (Bob); sons Andy Dubois (Ann); Ron Dubois (Brenda), Reg Dubois (Kerrina) and Guy Dubois (Bev); grandchildren: Dwayne Dubois (Rae), Dana Muir, Chris Baxter (Perlita), Scott Baxter (Amanda), Jennifer Gerry, Billy Gerry (Pam), Chuck Dubois, Nicole Koroluk (Kevin), Mandy Green (Kelly), Todd Dubois (Breanne), Steve Dubois, Chad Woods, Stacy Dubois, and Shandi Dubois; great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Zach, Brianne, Austin, Amanda, Hailey, Alexis, Cadence, Jordan, Kaley, Cassie, Summer Woods, Carter, Mason, Lincoln, Catherine and Summer Dubois. Cecile was born in Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba on December 17, 1925. She married Charles Dubois in 1946 and began to raise a large family in the Laurier, Manitoba area for ten years. She then moved to Grand Rapids then to Dauphin before moving to Brandon in 1966. Besides creating a wonderful home for her husband and children, Cecile worked many jobs: Ste. Rose Hospital, The Towers Hotel in Dauphin, Fairview Home, K-Mart, Scotia Bank, Elton Collegiate and volunteering at the Canada Summer Games. One of her hobbies was knitting and she made Afghans for all of her children and some of her grandchildren which she was very proud of. In 2000, she married Bill Brownridge of Brandon and had moved to Langley, British Columbia. She and Bill returned to Brandon in 2007 and lived happily at Victoria Landing being visited by family frequently. The Funeral Mass was held in Ste. Rose du Lac Church on Saturday, November 29, 2008. Fr. Paul Tinguley officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were her six granddaughters: Nicole, Mandy, Jennifer, Stacey, Shandi and Cassie. Urn Bearer was her eldest son Andy. Interment followed in the Ste. Rose Cemetery. Mom's passing has left a large hole in everyone's life but, just like her flower gardens at the family home on fourth street, we need to plant the seeds of all our great memories into those holes and cultivate and nurture them so they can flourish into memories we all can cherish forever. She truly was a great person and mother. She is loved dearly and is already sadly missed. She took great care of all her family. Now it's God's turn to take care of our mom.
