Obituary

PROKASKI: The death of Margaret "Peggy" Galbraith Prokaski of the Sokol Manor occurred Monday, October 20, 2003 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. The Ceremony to Celebrate Margaret's life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North on Saturday October 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Evert Busink of the Christian Reformed Church will officiate. Interment will follow at the Veterans' Section of the Brandon Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the Chapel on Friday evening between 7:00-8:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the CNIB, 345 -10th Street, Brandon R7A 4G1. Complete obituary information to follow. PROKASKI: Margaret "Peggy" Galbraith Prokaski of Brandon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, October 20, 2003. She was born, in Edinborough, Scotland on September 3, 1922. and came to Canada on the Queen Elizabeth in 1948. She met Nick "Muggs" Prokaski and they were married on August 7, 1948. They had five children Joan, Kate, Harry, Barb and Nick. She served in WW II on an airbase in London, England as a W.A.C. Peggy belonged to several organizations such as the Legion #3, CNIB, Sokol Hall and Seniors for Seniors. She was very active in her church and joined many CNIB activities. She also enjoyed bowling, bingo and especially family outings. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She touched the hearts of everyone she met. She is survived by her children Joan (Bryan) Kingdon, Kate (Ron) Dutchyshen, Harry Prokaski, Barb (Ron) Plewes and Nick (Maryann) Prokaski. Her grandchildren Michelle (Mike) Mielke, Karrie (Rob) Stockham, Terry Dutchyshen, Jody (Jeff) Story, Donavon (Kim) Nelson, Jaret and Kara Plewes, Shelby and Rachel Prokaski and Benny and Zascha Prokaski. She also has seven great grandchildren Kole, Ryan, Kori, Sasha, Brian, Shaye and Tripp. Three nieces and nephews Debbie, Norman and Danny also survive her. The Funeral Service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street N. on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Evert Busink will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery A luncheon will follow in the lower level of the Sokol Hall, 33-11th Street North. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Mrs. Prokaski to CNIB Activity Program, 354-10th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 4G1. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net.
