Obituary

MANN: Margaret E. Mann (nee Bodie) passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, after a period of failing health on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Marg was born in Winnipeg on September 3, 1929. At the age of sixteen, she moved with her parents to Brandon. After graduating from St. Michael's Academy, she completed a secretarial program at Success Business College in Winnipeg. She first worked at the Federal Income Tax Office in Winnipeg, then at Harrison Junior High School for over 20 years. Just prior to retirement from Neelin High School, where she worked for six years, she decided that as computers were coming in, she was best to be going out. Marg enjoyed sweater shopping (to Grandpa's dismay) and traveling, going to Europe four times, seeing Canada from coast to coast, and traveling throughout much of the United States. More recently she would annually wear out a pair of "Rockports" on her daily walks. Her humour, gentleness, kindness and tolerance made her especially loved by her grandchildren, and respected by all who knew her. She was totally devoted to her grandchildren attending all of their school and sporting events. Grams and her warm smile will be lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband for 52 years, Jim; children, Jim (Heather) and Cindy (Blaine); grandchildren, Devin, Krista, David, Alexandra, Tara and Keegan; brothers, Lloyd and Roland; sister-in-law, Joan; and brother-in-law, Bob (Vivian). Respecting her wishes, Mom will be cremated without a formal service. She will be reunited with her son, Greg, who passed away in 1981. She was also predeceased by her father, George; mother, Ella; and brother, Allan. In Margaret's memory, a come and go gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2005 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the family residence, 1361-2nd Street. The family wishes to send thanks to the caring hospital staff and all those who provided her with support and care through the past year. The nurses were able to have her smile even while she was in pain. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Marg to The Kidney Foundation of Canada - Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3M 2K8. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
