Obituary

HAMILTON: It is with profound sadness that the family of Margaret Alexis Hamilton announce her death on Monday, December 28, 2015. Predeceased by her son Billy, and grandsons Kelsey Dane and Richard Bouverat, Marg will be remembered with love by her husband Bill and her four daughters; Nancy Hamilton (Rob Lamont), Colleen Funk (Ron), Barb Howe (Brian), Karen Bouverat (Bob); daughter-in-law Stacie Clark; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Bob (Bev), Andy (Lorna) and sisters-in-law Ruth, Dorothy, and Dale. Born in Virden, Manitoba on December 25, 1937 to Art and Dorothy Harris, Marg was the only daughter in a family of six children. The Harris family moved to Brandon when she was very young. As a young woman, Marg went to business college and worked for a doctor's office. On May 24, 1958, Marg married Bill Hamilton and together they raised their five children in Brandon. A generous, compassionate, and kind person, Marg had a tremendous sense of humour with a sharp dry wit. She had many interests throughout her life; raising sheltie pups, cross stitching, puzzles and quilting, golf, curling, Citizen Advocacy and Community Respite where she worked for many years, as well as her weekly bridge games with the "bridge bags". Marg was a leader in 4-H, a member of Toastmasters, and a longtime and active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Marg loved summers at Ditch Lake and her winters in Victoria. The Ceremony to Celebrate Margaret's life took place at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 2, 2016 with Rev. Dr. Glenn Ball officiating. A reception followed the service. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 361 Russell Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5H6.

May God hold you in the palm of His hand,
Until we meet again.
