ADOLPH: Margaret Isobel "Peggy" Adolph passed away at her residence, Fairview Home, on Friday, January 26, 2007. Peggy was born on July 13, 1921 in Brandon, the daughter of John and Mary Matthew. She received her education in Brandon, attending McLaren, Earl Haig Junior High and Brandon Collegiate. She also attended Wheat City Business College. Upon completing her education, Peggy moved to Ottawa for a short time and worked for the Federal Government as a secretary. She then moved back to Brandon, working for Christies School Supply, then the Wartime Prices and Trade Board from 1942 -1945. During this time she met Russell Adolph and they were in married in March of 1945. They lived in Winnipeg for one year, moving to Edmonton and then back to Brandon in 1952. In the early 1960's, she worked a short time at the Credit Bureau and then in 1964, she started working at Brandon University in the Registrar's office until she retired. In the autumn of 1979, Peggy began working as the Church Secretary of First Presbyterian Church and retired once again in July of 1991. Peggy was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church. She attended Sunday School, young people's group, CGIT, the study group, Heather Club, WMS and for many years was a member of the choir. While living in Edmonton, she was a member of Strathcona Presbyterian Church. Peggy loved to bake and enjoyed visiting people. She had many memorable trips. A tour of British Columbia, to celebrate her mother's 80th birthday was a special time for her. Meeting cousins was a highlight for her on her trips to Scotland. A third trip overseas with her sister, included a visit to Oberammegau and watching the Passion Play. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by: her children, Kathryn Adolph, Mary (Dan) Lovatt and son, Andrew, John Adolph, and children, James, Tasha and Ashley, and their mother, Janet Sutherland. She will also be fondly remembered by: her sister Florence Wyatt of Calgary, AB and sister-in-law, Edith Watts of Chilliwack, BC; numerous nieces and nephews and several cousins in Scotland. Peggy was predeceased by: her husband, Russell; and parents, John and Mary Matthew. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 339-12th Street, on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Dr. Dale Woods will officiate. The family considers all in attendance Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.
