The death of Malcom (Mel) Leslie Ferguson, of Brandon occurred at the Assiniboine Centre on Saturday, February 15, 2003. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. FERGUSON: Malcolm (Mel) Ferguson, beloved husband of the late Beatrice Ferguson, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, February 15, 2003. Mel was born in the Rural Municipality of Woodworth, Manitoba on June 17, 1923, the son of John and Leslie Ferguson. He was raised on the farm near Kenton and loved living there. Mel spent his early years working on the farm and then mining in Flin Flon, MB. He then worked for Canadian Pacific Railway for 30 years before retiring. Mel and Beatrice were married in 1976 and enjoyed their year's together living in Brandon. Mel loved working on small machines and was a "Jack of all trades". He is survived by: his son, Jim (Shelley); grandsons, Ryan and Josh. There are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mel was predeceased by: his wife, Beatrice in January of 2003; daughter Kathy in 1976; and several nieces and nephews. The Ceremony to Celebrate Mel's life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.
