LYSENKO: Lynne Mary Lysenko passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2003 with her family at her side. Lynne was born on October 17, 1944 in Brandon. Her kind, gentle nature, evident in her early childhood, endeared her to all. Lynne attended David Livingstone School, followed by St. Michael's Academy. After graduating from a secretarial course, Lynne was employed by the City of Brandon, and took great pride in the 37 years of long-term service with the city. As an active member of St. Augustine's Legion of Mary, Lynne spent many years helping people. There was no one better at listening to and accepting others, than Lynne. She made time for everyone, and her patience and unassuming, trusting nature drew people to her. Lynne also took great pride in her house and flower garden. Holding a special place in Lynne's heart were her nieces, Katie and Tara. Whatever the need, auntie was always there. Lynne was a loving daughter, sister and aunt who exemplified the positive in life: accepted without judging, had patience and love for all each day. She will be sadly missed by her mother Nell Lysenko; sister Margaret (Don) Hamilton; nieces Katie and Tara Hamilton; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Lynne was predeceased by her father, John; and by her maternal and paternal grandparents. The Ceremony of Christian Burial was held at Memories Chapel on Monday, December 8, 2003. Deacon John MacKenzie from St. Augustine's Church officiated. Pallbearers were: Don Hamilton, Greg McKay, Wally Kosier, Bill Grobb, Keith Buizer and Brian Canart. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Lynne to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
