ZAVISLAK: Lloyd Edward Zavislak of Brandon, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, December 31, 2006. Lloyd was born in Brandon, Manitoba on July 18, 1940, the youngest son born to Frank and Pearl Zavislak. He was raised on a farm south of Brandon and attended Cornwallis School. Lloyd married Leona in 1963 and they had four children, Rob, Lana, Lori and Jeff. Lloyd and Leona divorced and later in life he met Bev Burgess, whom he adored and was able to spend 24 memorable years with. In Lloyd's early employment he worked on the farm before he started welding for a steel company in Brandon. He started his own business, "Lloyd's Trucking", in which he hauled gravel. Later he went on to run heavy equipment for Cumming & Dobbie, spending most of his time on a loader. Lloyd could always be found tinkering or repairing cars and trucks. He played the accordion, enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Lloyd loved his summers at Oaklake, sharing special times with Bev at the cabin. He loved dogs, particularly his little pup, Buddy. Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by: his wife, Bev; children, Rob (Liana) Zavislak, Lana (Tim) Roy, Lori (Darren) Boychuk and Jeff (Jacqui) Zavislak; grandchildren, Bruxell, Jordan, Samantha, Jade, Maxwell, Brayden and Breanna. He will also be greatly missed by his brothers, John and Fred Zavislak and their families. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Pearl Zavislak. The Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, January 4, 2007. Rev. John Nesbitt of Trinity United Church officiated. Pallbearers were: Jeff Zavislak, Rob Zavislak, John Zavislak, Fred Zavislak, Jordan Boychuk, Maxwell Roy, and Bruxell Zavislak. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery.
