SMITH: Lloyd Smith of Brandon passed away on August 30, 2008. Lloyd was born in Killarney, Manitoba on December 3,1939. Brandon was his home for all of his life. Throughout his youth and Lloyd's years as the proud co-owner of JLA Foodstore along with his brother Don, and in his retirement years he continually gathered many friends. Always a friendly, socialable person, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. On Febuary 8, 1964, Lloyd married Dorothy Moore and together they had a truly unique bond of everlasting love and friendship. Lloyd's priority was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Dot, daughter Christa (Brian) Harness, son Cory, grandsons Jay and Travis Harness, brothers Joe, Donald, Murray, Robert and sisters, Elsie, Kay, Jean, Dorothy and Marie, also survive. His many surviving brothers-in-law, sisters-in -law, nieces and nephews are greatly saddened by his passing. He was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Eva Smith, brother Gordon and sister Margaret. In keeping with Lloyd's wishes; no formal ceremony will be held.
