DILLER: Leslie Leon William passed away Saturday April 24, 2004 at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon. A Ceremony to Celebrate Leon's Life will be held at Memories Chapel 330-18th Street North on Wednesday April 28, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Joan Jarvis of Central United Church will officiate. DILLER: Leslie Leon William Diller passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, April 24, 2004, from Pulmonary Fibrosis after a short illness. Leon was born on April 27, 1945, in Brandon, Manitoba and would have celebrated his 59th birthday on Tuesday. He is survived by his parents, Andrew and Joyce Diller; his only son, Brett Diller of Calgary, and his ex-wife and best friend, Sharon Diller of Calgary. Leon is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Diller and Carol (Barry) Jacks and one brother, Ron Diller; as well as nieces and nephew, Jason, Allison, Sherry, and Shawn and grandnieces and nephews, Alyssa, Ashley, Stephanie, Janessa, Quinn, Julianna, Erica, and Charlize. Leon resided in Brandon all his life and attended school at Fleming, Earl Oxford and Vincent Massey High. He graduated and received his teacher's diploma in February 1969 and earned his B.A. degree from Brandon University in October 1975. He was an active teacher within the Brandon School Division for over 31 years. Leon's love of the teaching profession was proven by his dedication to his students and by his endeavours to instill in them the knowledge to succeed. Leon retired from the teaching profession in June 2000 due to ill health. During his life he was an active member of the Kinsmen Club of Brandon and enjoyed helping out at numerous activities. In his retirement, he was involved with the Seniors for Seniors Organization as a volunteer and enjoyed hobbies including golf and attending hockey games. He had a love of family and Leon's presence at family gatherings always made them more exciting as he loved to tease. Leon touched many lives and we will never forget the wonderful memories we have. The funeral celebrating Leon's life was held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, with Rev. Joan Jarvis officiating.
