Obituary

GOLDING: Lena "Lee" Golding (nee Victor) passed away with her family at her side at Fairview Home on Wednesday, September 15, 2004. She was born May 7, 1914 in Brandon, Manitoba and lived in Brandon throughout her school years. She moved to Lauder, Manitoba following her marriage to Patrick S. Golding on February 18, 1936. They later moved back to Brandon, where Lee spent many years teaching in various schools within Brandon. She also did accounting for Magnacca Agencies as well as at the Brandon University library until she retired in 1981. Lee dedicated her life to volunteering and had many organizations that she belonged to including St. John Ambulance in which she spent 50 years in numerous offices and appointments and attained the appointment of Dame of the Order. She was also the past president of the St. Augustine's C.W.L. and Canadian Lady Foresters, Court Princess Mary #2. Lee was a member of the 5-pin Friday night bowling league. She loved to travel and went on many trips all over the world including Hong Kong and Europe. From 1971 to 2001 she traveled North America camping with Pat, Barb and family. Lee is survived by her son Patrick S. and wife Barbara of Brandon, MB and their children Joan Golding; Pat (Lea) and great-grandchildren Jordan, Patrick and Brianna; Leanne (Clayton) Guest and great-grandchildren Duran and Wade and Tammy (special granddaughter to Lee); son Victor and wife Sharron of Edmonton, AB and their children Angela (Gary) Parker and great-grandchildren Joseph and Aaron; Cheryl Golding (Chris Bahuaud) and great-grandchildren Anthony, Patrick and Reanna; and Dale (Harriet) Golding; son Brian and wife Joyce of Edson, AB and their children Sean (Alex) and great-grandchildren Megan, Kerstin, Patrick, Erin and Michael; Laura-Lee (Kelly) Jonasson and great-grandchildren Brenna-Lynn, Chelsey and Shae; Susan Hartman-Golding. She is also survived by her brother John (Isabel) Victor of St. Catherine's, ON and sisters Marguerite Dean of Calgary, AB; Marion Johnson of Brandon, MB and Doreen (Neil) McKinnon of Maple Creek, SK; sister-in-law Agnes Victor of Brandon, MB and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Lee was predeceased by her parents Martin and Lena Victor; husband Patrick S. Golding; brothers Joe, William and Jack; sister Elizabeth and special granddaughter Maureen Golding. Prayers will be said at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, September 17, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Leo Fernandes will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Reception will be held at the St. Augustine's Square following the graveside service.
