Lawrence (Larry) MacPherson Pierce, born at Reston, Manitoba on April 25, 1918, passed away suddenly and peacefully with his family at his side in Victoria, B.C. on December 25, 2000. He is survived by his loving wife Eileen, son; Gregg, grandchildren Winona, Emilene and Jeremy of Beausejour, Manitoba, daughter; Helen (Geoff) grandchildren Tully and Gannon of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He is also survived by his sister; Mabel Cuthill of Reston, Manitoba, mother-in-law and father-in-law May and Peter Morris of Saanichton, B.C., brother-in-law; Gordon Kingsley of Victoria, B.C. as well as many nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his parents Helen and Thomas Pierce, sisters; Frances (Les), Verna (Burt), brothers; Orville, Lyle (Phyllis) and brother-in-law Jack Cuthill. Larry worked 20 years at Anglo Canadian Oils and finished his working career with the Brandon School Division. Following retirement, Eileen and Larry spent 17 happy years travelling to many parts of the world. He enjoyed reading, gardening, dancing, volunteering in various ways, both at Knox United Church and in the community, feeding the birds and watching new arrivals from the kitchen window. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren and celebrated 50 years of happy married life in July 2000. Cremation took place in Victoria, B.C. A Memorial Service will be held on January 5, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Knox United Church. Officiant Lydia Glawson. A private Committal Service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery.
