OUR DAD OUR HERO
A husband of 40 years?father of 39 years?grandfather?so known as Santa Claus?o was a butcher, a baker, a family creator.
We love you for the kindness in your eyes and the warmth in your voice.
For the honesty in your words and the silence of your smile.
For the ways in which we are similar and those in which were worlds apart?R> We love you?R> For the openness of your understanding and the acceptance of your heart.
For the tenderness of your touch and the strength of your commitment.
For your sense of humour and your seriousness of purpose.
For a thousand small reasons and most important of all simply because you are you.
In all of creation, you are the one whom we cherish the most.
You loved us for who we are.
We are so glad that you were a part of our lives.
It was a privilege to know you, to share ourselves with you, and to walk together on a path of life.
We turned to you for trust and you gave it openly.
We looked to you for inspiration, for answers, and for encouragement, and?R> You lifted our spirits up, acted silly around us, guided us, protected and comforted us.
We cherish your friendship; adored your personality, respect your values, and you never gave up on us.
We miss you incredibly and hoped you'd stay forever, but our hearts are thankful, that you were here.
We love you Dad?u are now the angel by our side.

WE LOVE YOU DAD?R> What can you say to someone who has always been one of the most essential parts of your world?
Someone who took you by the hand when you were little and helped show you the way.
What do you say to someone who stood by to help you grow, providing strength and support so you could become the person you are today?
What do you say to let him know that he is the best there is, and that you have inherited some of his wisdom and strength?
What words would you say if you ever got the chance?
Maybe you'd just say we love you dad and hope he understands.

A heartfelt thank you for all the cards, flowers, contributions and food sent to our home, in the recent loss of our husband, dad and grandpa, Lawrence William (Bill) Bertrand. A special thank you to Rev. Boyd Drake, the choir and urn bearer, Laurie Ringland. A special thanks to Jaclyn Sliworsky, from Memories Chapel, for making a difficult time easier to bear.
