Obituary

Laura Lea Merritt passed away on Saturday March 23, 2024, at the Brandon Regional Health
Centre with her family by her side after a very courageous battle with cancer. Laura was a spry
64 years young and not even cancer could dull her feistiness. She spent much of her life
cooking, whether it was a job or just cooking big family meals Laura loved to be in the kitchen.
When she wasn't in the kitchen you could find her spending time with family, especially her
daughter Jennassa. For anyone who knew Laura, family was one of her main priorities her
entire life and if you were lucky enough to be considered family, she loved you with her whole
heart. Throughout Laura's life she was constantly making such deep friendships that you
became a part of her extended family.

Laura had so many hobbies throughout her life; baking, crocheting, scrapbooking, playing card
games, Bingo, Yahtzee, and her most recent obsession Cricut crafting. Laura was a social
butterfly, the type to wear her heart on her sleeve and she loved to give you her opinion, which
was never sugar coated.

Laura will be cherished by her husband of almost 16 years Greg, her daughter Jennassa (Ty),
her dog/child Baxter and her four grand dogs Abbey, Bear, Faith and Kita; siblings Donna (Ron)
Sanders, Joy (Maurice) Snow, and Timothy (Maxine) Ingraham; brother-in-law Bruce Moar;
nieces and nephews Melinda (Kris) and family, Derek (Marcie) and family, Janna (Jody) , Mandi
and family, Terra-Lee (Adam), Kyle, Tyler (Makayla), and Taya (Seb); Grandmother Blanche
Nichol; Aunt Bonnie Sinnock; mother-in-law Doreen Merritt; step sons Michell (Shanon) Merritt
and family, and Dennis Merritt; sister-in-law Cathy (Clint) Mack and family.

Laura was predeceased by both her parents, John and Janice Ingraham, her sister Shelly Moar,
and father-in-law Gregory Merritt.

A celebration of Laura's life will take place in the summer.

Donations in memory of Laura may be made to the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, 150
McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3.
