Kenneth Raymond Ure
November 8, 1939 - July 27, 2026
Ken was born in Winnipeg to Charles (Ray) and Greta Ure and raised in Morden, Manitoba, with his sisters Joan (deceased) and Shirley. He met his beloved Tina Holenski in Winnipeg, and the two were married on May 25, 1963. Earning a Master of Science degree from University of Manitoba in 1967, Ken went on to a high school teaching career in Morden (2 years) and Brandon (30 years) at Harrison and Crocus Plains High Schools. Ken’s memory will be cherished by his wife Tina, children Daren (Valerie) and Jodine, grandchildren Megan, Stuart, Shealie, and Dylan, great-granddaughter Molly, and sister Shirley.
Ken was an avid nature lover who loved to explore and photograph the forests, prairies, and waters in Manitoba and abroad. He loved all creatures, great and small. At home he spent many hours tending the garden and flowers. During retirement Ken assisted Habitat for Humanity for many years, and he and Tina built many memories in their world travels. Ken carried himself with calmness and cheerfulness that shone through to all that he greeted.
While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family finds comfort in the countless memories he created and the legacy of love, laughter, and friendship he leaves behind.
Ken will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
As per Ken's wishes, a private family graveside service will take place at a later date at the Brandon Cemetery.
