On Thursday, July 20, 2017, Kathleen "Kaye" Smith passed away at Fairview Home. Kaye was born March 19, 1922 in Rainy River, Ontario. She was raised in Transcona along with five siblings and attended school there. During her working years Kaye was employed at the Brandon General Hospital. In retirement, Kaye and Garnet enjoyed traveling and took numerous trips to Europe, California, Alaska and spent many winters in Victoria, BC. Mom was an avid gardener and spent many happy hours amongst her flowers. She volunteered for many years with Christmas Cheer and Meals on Wheels. Kaye will be lovingly remembered by her children Don, Dick (Marie), Randy (Karla), Tricia (Rod); grandchildren Grant, Jen, Ann-Marie, Sara, Ryan, Evan, Chris, Holly; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and brothers-in-law Ken (Jinx) and Stan. She was predeceased by her husband Garnet, three sisters and two brothers. A family gathering will take place at a later date.
