PROST: The death of Joseph John Prost of Brandon, beloved husband of Ivy occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Joe was born in Winnipeg on March 12, 1918 one of ten children born to Andrew and Amelia Prost. Joe received his education in Winnipeg and in earlier years enjoyed playing baseball and football. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in 1939, taking his training in Camp Borden, Ontario and Winnipeg. Following his discharge from the Armed Forces, Joe then began working for the Manitoba Liquor Commission. He married Ivy Louise Hickson in 1949. They moved to the United States in 1957, residing in San Diego for a number of years and then returned to Canada in 1996. Joe always had an interest in sports. He enjoyed participation in earlier years and later enjoyed baseball, hockey, football and soccer. He leaves his wife, Ivy and two brothers, George and Frank Prost. There are numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his six sisters and one brother. A private service will be held.
