Obituary

JANUSH: Joseph "Joe" Janush of Brandon passed away suddenly at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, January 31, 2005 at the age of 71 years. Joe was born August 4, 1933 to Joseph and Nellie Janush in Brandon. He attended school in Brandon, Delton and Brandon Hills. In his younger years, Joe enjoyed horseback riding, baseball and many other sports. Joe married Phyllis Squires on August 2, 1958 and together they raised their daughters. He was the manager of the Husky in Brandon for a number of years and drove bus for the Brandon School Division for 25 years. Joe was a self-employed farmer in the Nesbitt area and farmed until the time of his passing. He led an active life, which included his love of cattle, fishing, vacationing at their cabin in Ninette, gardening and watching many sports. Joe enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives and always loved to talk about farming. He mastered the art of channel surfing, being able to watch many programs at once. Every year, Joe would return to the Brandon Hills to attend their annual picnic. His dog Jack was a devoted companion in all Joe's travels. Joe is survived by: his loving wife, Phyllis; daughters: Joyce Janush (Maurice), Jo-Anne (Allan) Soder and Rhonda Janush (Alan); grandchildren Jennifer, Steven, Nicole and Crystal; sisters Bernice (John) Boyko and Gladys (Pete) Martine; sisters-in-law: Irene Lambourne, Mae (Arnold) Shettler and Gladys (Wayne) Gork; brother Bill (Bella) Squires; brother-in-law Jack (Frieda) Gardiner, numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Joe was predeceased by infant daughter Darlene Rose Janush; his parents Nellie and Joseph Janush; sisters Marian Bilyk and Darlene Janush; in-laws Percy and Dorothy Squires, sister-in-law Mary Gardiner; brothers-in-law Walter (Yvonne) Squires and Silas Lambourne. The Funeral Service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, on Friday, February 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers are: nephews Blaine and Doug Schettler, Rick and Glen Lambourne, Darwin and Jason Gork. Longtime friend, David Inkster, will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
