TEALL: John Douglas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre at the age of 93 years. Doug was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy Jean in 1986 and son Wayne Douglas in 1993. Doug was a logical and patient person who loved to discuss current events and was a wealth of knowledge usually shared with his quiet sense of humour. In his later years one of his favourite sayings was "at present my demise does not appear imminent, but buying green bananas is a risky investment at my age." Doug is survived by and will be missed by his wife Jean, sons Ivan (Elaine), Lloyd (Marlaine), stepson Rod (Tracy), grandchildren and great grandchildren. As per Dad's request and to quote him "I do not want a funeral service. Nor an obituary, unless you think it is needed. Just take the ashes to Carberry, at your convenience, and bury them in the perpetual care plot and have the dates inscribed." As I said Doug was a logical man. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Doug may be made to a charity of choice.
